What if everything you knew turned out to be a lie? You find out that you aren’t even human—at least not entirely. What if, one day, you realize your world will never be the same again? These are the questions that Samantha Logan must face in “The Amoveo Legacy”. A dream on her thirtieth birthday compels her to leave her artists loft in New York City and move back to the beach with her Grandmother, Nonie.
However, the instant Samantha steps foot on the salty shores of her childhood home, she realizes the landscape has changed. The moment she encounters the mysterious, arrogant neighbor Malcolm Drew, her life is never the same. Through a seductive courtship, he introduces her to the magical mystical world of the Amoveo. The dream walking, telepathic, shape shifters that he claims are her true heritage. However, Malcolm holds back a secret that could destroy them both. Will he be able to protect Samantha and convince her of the secret legacy buried deep inside of her?

Excerpt:
They rode back to the house in a heavy silence. He could feel her confusion vibrate around them both. His eyes instinctively shifted to their animal form, a symptom of his desire. He’d been so caught up in his passion for her, so terrified by the thought of losing her that he completely forgot to keep his eyes from shifting. She broke the silence as they pulled up the gravel driveway of her home.
“Malcolm, who was that man you were talking to on the balcony this afternoon,” She asked quietly.
“You mean Davis,” He said, hoping that may satisfy her curiosity but knowing it wouldn’t.
“No. You know exactly who I mean,” she said with steady resolve. “The tall guy, with long dark hair. I saw you speaking with him today on your deck..”
The car came to a halt at the top of the driveway. She looked at him daring him to deny it. He saw the determination in her face and looked away before answering her.
“I’m sorry. The only person at the house today was Davis,” He said getting out of the car.
Sam was starting to get pissed. She knew he was lying about the man on the deck. She couldn’t explain how the guy disappeared, but he did. The more she ran it over in her mind, the more certain she was that it happened. Tonight, his eyes were the eyes of the eagle. She wasn’t seeing things. It wasn’t a trick of the light. His eyes had changed into the same eyes she’d seen in her dream, in the bird on her window sill and in the portrait in her studio. This eagle nonsense only started after she’d moved back home, next door to him.
Malcolm opened the door and offered to help her from the car. Hesitantly, she took his hand. He pulled her effortlessly from the car. He felt her breasts gently brush up against him. That feather light touch held a promise of pleasure to come. Their breath mingled in the cool, late summer evening. Their bodies hummed in unison with anticipation.
“I want you to trust me Samantha. I need you to trust me,” He said in a low voice that vibrated through her. He brought her hand to his mouth and gently brushed his lips back and forth across her knuckles. He slowly ran his other hand up her back and gently began to massage the nape of her neck. Her breath quickened with each passing moment.
“Please, give me a chance to win your trust,” He whispered against her trembling hand. He feathered small kisses along her palm.
Samantha was on fire, desire building up inside of her, beyond her control. Her head told her to run, while every other fiber of her being begged for his touch. Her resolve was slipping away inch by inch. She knew this man was dangerous. He hid secrets from her that she may never learn or comprehend. Yet she was still drawn to him beyond all reason.
He leaned in and this time kissed her gently, slowly seducing her lips with his. He took her face delicately in his hands, as though she might break. She opened to him and swept her tongue along his. Samantha felt the slow burn of desire crackling between them. She deepened the kiss and wrapped her arms around him. His large frame dwarfed her as she fit easily in his embrace. It was as though they’d been made for one another. She’d never in her life felt anything like this. Her desire for him clawed at her from the inside out.
Trust me, she heard him say in the corners of her mind. Her eyes flew open and she pulled back from him. She held him there at arm’s length for a moment, her breath coming quickly, not quite able to register what she just heard.
He held his desire in check and kept his eyes from shifting. He allowed her time to process what had just happened. Looking into her frightened eyes he reached out and whispered gently along the edges of her mind, Trust me. Sam’s eyes widened further. She shook her head and backed away from him in disbelief. Blindly she ran into the house leaving Malcolm alone. One glimmer of hope remained. He’d been looking into the ice blue eyes of a wolf.

New Developments!

This weekend I got a very exciting email from my publisher at Devine Destinies. Apparently, they've bumped my release date up to May 15th. I am over the moon about this! I am excited and terrified all at the same time. To be honest, the promo has taken up a great deal of my time and the release in July seemed very far away. Well...not anymore. Now my release date is just a couple of weeks away.

We've decided to leave our promotional events in the dates we'd set. The initial CD book signing/Launch event is still scheduled for July 18th at Fogarty's in Bronxville, NY. Amy Petty is going to be playing....as scheduled. I've got on-air promo spots set up for TV and Radio and of course we can't forget the incredible networking here on the Internet.

Viral networking is so cool! If just one of my friends of FB posts the link to my website or FB Fan Page....then the 400 friends on their page see the link. Nice!

Twitter is great too. Most folks will Re-Tweet or RT a networking post and then you get to hook into all of their twitter followers.

But I digress......

Since the release date has been bumped up, so has everything else. I was pretty psyched today when I went to my publishers page and saw my book right there on the 'Coming Soon' page.

Things are moving along.....and I am pumped! Stay tuned.

Here's the link to Devine Destinies Publishing so you can see for yourself.

The Strike Nineteens

One of the things I love about the Internet is the way you can connect from people all over the world. My friend John Campbell, an Internet radio DJ, connected me with Amy Petty. I blogged about her incredible music earlier this month http://www.amypetty.com/.

Now, he's hooked me up yet again. The Strike Nineteens are a very cool band from Scotland. If it weren't for John I never would've heard of these guys and they are very talented. They are so gifted that in 3 days...they wrote me a song for my vampire series. Can you imagine? I am so blown away by anyone that can write music. I don't understand it...I'm just so glad there are people out there that can do it. I write books...but music? To me that's like writing in a foreign language. I'm completely amazed that this very cool group of guys wrote my vampire series a song. WOW! It's called "Forever in Darkness" and you can hear it exclusively on my website http://www.novelromance.net/

This talented group of cutie patooties....They're not only talented, but adorable to boot....they have a great album out right now. I personally love the title track Delicate and my other fave is Minor Things.

You can check it all out at their myspace page http://www.myspace.com/thestrikenineteens

I would be remiss if I didn't mention John Campbell and the awesome radio show he's part of. You can have a listen to them at http://www.wgmuradio.com/

Origin of the Easter Bunny

Today, my four boys and I took a walk after the rain went away. Our walks usually consist of very odd or very deep conversations. Today's topic was... Exactly where does the Easter Bunny come from?

My 8 year old twins are convinced he comes from, "Mythical Creature Land". According to them this is where Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Unicorns, Leprechaun's, Elves etc all hail from. Not bad. I kind of like that explanation. It's simple and covers a lot of bases.

My 10 year old and 13 year old sons launched into the religious/historical possibilities. They both said that the Easter bunny was a symbol of both spring and fertility. To quote my 10 year old, Leo...."Well Mom, you know how Easter celebrates Christ rising again? Well, rabbits produce a lot of babies. They are very fertile...just like God." Huh? How do you argue with that????

When we got home, I naturally began to troll the Internet for answers. There were some that came pretty close to Leo's answer. The truth is....I'm sticking with my twins. "Mythical Creature Land". Works for me....but then again...I write about Vampires and Shape Shifters.

Happy Easter everyone!

Chatting LIVE tonight 7-10pm at The Haunt

First of all...I hope everyone is having a fabulous holiday weekend! I know today is Good Friday, and not exactly the best night for an online chat, but I scheduled this awhile ago not realizing that it's a holiday. So...if anyone is out there tonight hanging by their computer, come on by and say hi. I'll be posting an excerpt or two from "The Amoveo Legacy" and posting the blurb for "The Amoveo Heart". I may also put up a piece from my WIP "Heart of the Coven", my new vampire series. Hope to see you tonight at The Haunt!

Music Muse

I have to admit that I've been in a bit of a writing rut lately. My muse has not been forthcoming and when you add that to the fact that I have very little free time....Not good. Today, however, the spell has been broken. An old friend of mine, who I reconnected with on Facebook, has a radio show and deals with great new musicians. He is expanding his show to include more than music, and asked if I wanted to be interviewed. Ummm...YES! At any rate, he sent me some links for new songs by largely unknown musicians. He was hoping one of them would be good to use for our interview...set the mood and so on. Well....let me tell you....one of the songs he sent was absolutely perfect! It really captured the essence of my second book in my shifter series, "The Amoveo Heart". It also opened the flood gates and gave me some outstanding new ideas for Dante and Kerry's story. It is written and performed by Amy Petty and I really hope you'll all check her out. I have a feeling we'll be hearing much more from her in the years to come. Here's her Myspace link. I also added her website to my links list. Her music is hauntingly beautiful and will stay with you long after you hear it. Her song "Honey on the Skin" woke up my muse.
