Standing side by side and taking in the sunset, silence hung between them for a few minutes, with only the sound off the ocean and a few passing seagulls. Another cruiser pulled into the marina, sending little waves throughout and making the boat rock with the swells. Griffin lost his balance briefly, wavered to the left and bumped into Skylar. If anyone else had been there, she probably would have fallen flat on her ass but not with Griffin. With lightning fast reflexes, he linked one arm around her waist and grabbed the railing with his other hand before pulling her body tightly against his. Skylar’s fingers curled around his biceps, the muscles flickering enticingly beneath her palms, as she held on for dear life. His body hardened against hers and she watched his Adam’s apple bob up and down as he swallowed. Her eyes drifted over his handsome face until her gaze latched onto his.

“I love the ocean,” Griffin said quietly. His hand splayed across her lower back, the heat of his skin seeping through the fabric of her dress. “The place I’m renting now is just down the beach and less than a mile from here. In fact—“

“Are you hungry?” Skylar asked quickly. She didn’t want him to tell her about his home or his cat or anything else. Nothing personal. That was the only way this would work. “I picked up some snacks and a bottle of wine tonight on my way here.”
“Sure.” Griffin nodded slowly and released her from his grasp. “I’m always hungry.”

Skylar let out the breath she didn’t even realize she was holding and went into the cabin with Griffin close behind. She went straight to the fridge, her nerves having gotten the better of her, Skylar did her best to seem nonchalant. No such luck. Her nervous habit of speed talking was about to kick in.

“I’m sure there are some wine glasses here somewhere.” Pulling the wine out of the fridge, she placed it on the counter while checking all of the cabinets for wine glasses and talking at the speed of light. “You know, this is just like me to bring wine and not have any glasses. It’s not my boat and Franco is usually prepared for anything so I’m totally surprised that there aren’t any here.”

Her babbling tirade was cut short when Griffin’s tall, rock hard frame pressed up against her back. Skylar stilled, with her fingers still curled around the knobs of the wall cabinets, she let out a soft gasp as Griffin’s hands settled on her hips. Her eyes drifted closed as his firm, warm lips nestled against her ear before placing a gentle kiss along the edge.

“You have nothing to be nervous about,” he whispered. Griffin’s hands slid up Skylar’s ribcage, trailed lightly over her breasts and along her arms before his fingers covered hers over the handles. “I’m here for the same reason you are, Sky.” He nuzzled her hair off her neck and she tilted her head to the side allowing him better access to the sensitive flesh. In between kisses, he murmured, “Pleasure. Pure, exquisite, pleasure.”
